hello all! quick question has anyone built the tamiya hummer with the tow missle system yet? that was my vehicle while i was in the 101st and would like to build one . i am sure it is a quality kit just would like to get some opinions on it.
thanks for the compliment will. 101st was an incredible and history filled unit. nice to know i am not the only one with the screaming eagle flying in my room!
My friend was able to get one (and the armament carrier, too). It looks like a good kit (as could be expected from Tamiya). My friend told me that the fit is just perfect.
Hey kenny,
Currently I am building the M1025 w/ the .30. So far the build is going great. The detailing is awesome but one thing gets me!! Whats one thing that is necessary for a vehicle to operate?? Gas pedal and the brake pedal right…!!
Did you notice that they were not included in the kit? O’well no real biggy at least for me.
Basically the build is going to be out of the box but I’m adding a few things here and there.
By the way do you have any pix of your HMVEE that could be used as refrences. I also have the 1046 and was lookin for some inspiration[;)].
One of my friends just returned from the Gulf who is in the 101st. I forgot what batl he is with. If he knew that I forgot he would knock me into next month[banghead]
Lookin forward to seeing your build my friend and thanks for serving our country proudly.
Flaps up,. Mike
thanks for the reviews captain very helpful. mike sorry to say i have not a pic of anything anymore. i lost everything i wish i still had them from my hummer to blackhawks, hueys and air assault school [:(] . but i do have a good memory lol. looking at the pics of tamiyas models the front is missing the solid bumper we had across the front of ours so far without having the kit in hand it is the only difference i see. oh yeah on the rear of the vehicle were tie-downs we used for our cammo nets. basically was big plastic rectangle which cotained the net and poles used to cammo the vehicles. just fold over the flaps tighten her up and slap it on the back of your hummer. just sucked picking all the leaves out of it when you got back from the field. so soon as i pick up the kit and see whats going on i will let you know of any changes that i notice most likely there wont be too many with tamiyas quality. and i pray my wife lets me get a digital cam soon so i can post some pics [:D]
I have been looking for one to build but all I could find is the specail ops vehicle . I was in a 1025 in Korea for a year. So I am looking for one of those . Good Luck on the build and I hope you get the cam so we can see the pics.
