havent been doing a whole lot of modeling this summer, buisy with life, and my band, but i suffered a heart attack about a month ago and the doc told me i needed to take it easy,so i figured i would dive back in.
i bought this kit about 6 months ago cheap,so i thought i would try and spruce it up with eduards photoetch kit. the whole photoetch thing is new to me and i dont have any tooling execept some razor blades,so this should be a challange.
started working on the running gear and have that mocked up now.
Sorry to hear about the recent medical situation, nevertheless glad to see you back and modeling. Looks like your progressing nicely(PE doesn’t seem to be causing you any problems), thus can’t wait to see how your Bulldog turns out.[:)]
Take care of yourself, Jason! All my best! Good work so far. This is far from a glamorous kit, but a fun classic. And I have built about 5!! Some can make this build look incredible! So, “glam” or not, it is a worthy build, by all means. Keep us posted, please!
started working on the upper hull the last couple of nights.
the sides of the kit hull lack side plate detail, and the p.e. kit gives you these plates.
i had to make the stiffining protrusions by running a ball point pen in the indentations they provide you. i set the plate on a block of soft pine. i think they came out ok.
Nice job so far! I usually find a Tamiya M-41 at Hobby Lobby and it always made me wonder if the tank is really that small because the box is much smaller than most boxes on the shelves even a box PAK 40! I will enjoy following your build…
