tamiya m-41 walker bulldog wip.

hey all,

havent been doing a whole lot of modeling this summer, buisy with life, and my band, but i suffered a heart attack about a month ago and the doc told me i needed to take it easy,so i figured i would dive back in.

i bought this kit about 6 months ago cheap,so i thought i would try and spruce it up with eduards photoetch kit. the whole photoetch thing is new to me and i dont have any tooling execept some razor blades,so this should be a challange.

started working on the running gear and have that mocked up now.

here are some pics of the turret so far.

thanks for looking.

jason

Sorry to hear about the recent medical situation, nevertheless glad to see you back and modeling. Looks like your progressing nicely(PE doesn’t seem to be causing you any problems), thus can’t wait to see how your Bulldog turns out.[:)]

Gald to see you still alive and kickin’ What better way to relax and take it easy.

I hope your health improves with this project!

I love this tank–this, and the Chaffee, are about as close to a “Classic tank look” as they come.

You can do this tank in ARVN colors from 'Nam too, if you want. Either way, a great little model!

Sorry to hear about the heart. Hope you are feeling better. This is a great way to relax.

Off to a nice start…looking good

Rounds Complete!!

Take care of yourself, Jason! All my best! Good work so far. This is far from a glamorous kit, but a fun classic. And I have built about 5!! Some can make this build look incredible! So, “glam” or not, it is a worthy build, by all means. Keep us posted, please!

thanks guys, having a heart attack at 37 is pretty scary to say the least!!

starting to get the hang of photoetch.

the turret is almost done, then its on to the upper hull.

i will keep you guys posted on the progress.

jason.

Looking good so far. Nice work on the PE.[tup]

Nate

hey guys,

started working on the upper hull the last couple of nights.

the sides of the kit hull lack side plate detail, and the p.e. kit gives you these plates.

i had to make the stiffining protrusions by running a ball point pen in the indentations they provide you. i set the plate on a block of soft pine. i think they came out ok.

jason.

Nice job so far! I usually find a Tamiya M-41 at Hobby Lobby and it always made me wonder if the tank is really that small because the box is much smaller than most boxes on the shelves even a box PAK 40! I will enjoy following your build…

Nice progress. How are you going to get everything painted in the track area and roadwheels. Looks tight!!

Rounds Complete!!

hi redleg,

i have not glued any of the roadwheels or return rollers,or track yet i just have it mocked up now.

i will paint them before assembly, gotta love the poly caps tamiya uses!!

Looking good. Which photoetch set is that? Anyone know of a barrel for this kit?

Looking really good! Your going to “glam” this simple kit, aren’t you?!?!? Yes, you are. Nice work!

modelbuilder,

its the eduard kit, squadron has it,and i think it sells for about $12.00.

i tried looking for a barrel but could not find one,but the kit barrel came out pretty good.
