Wow
Tough crowd
[:(]
Too bad for the crowds…
It’s a nice model indeed [applause].
I have just ordered one but on a different scale: a Maquette 1/400 Kursk. It’ll be interesting to see how the details compare to the Tamiya… Anyways, your model will give me some ideas on the colors. Thanks for posting the pictures and damn the placid crowds!
Very impressive … and your technique on the plating colors worked out like gangbusters. I’m not a sub guy, but this one turned my head.
Nice finish
It’s looks funny for sub in waterline looks but still credit to u for the weathering and color toning.
lol thanks guys
I though it was too stealthy for a moment there [:D]
The finish was very much an experiment that seemed to work out quite well, nice cheap kit too [;)]

Great work.
She sure looks tiny, what scale?
Great job on the build.
1/700 - its about the length of pen
And that’s huge for a 1/700th scale submarine. It’s a real nice little kit, isn’t it? I built it – it builds up looking a lot like the one you built with the nice decals and a wash or two – and was in the process of putting it in a diorama when I … lost interest. [:p] It sits, 90% finished, on a utility shelf.
How did you get the awesome paint finish?

Tankmaster - it was a series of heavy oil washes over a dark grey base coat, on a dark sub its difficult to over-do so when a final matt coat goes on top it lightens the effect nicely and really brings out the textures.
Very nice work indeed!
Thats really a great finish, and on such a small scale too.
Looks terrific-I think I’ll have to do a sub now. Nice to see the Kursk in one piece again.

Absolutely beautiful. Not only an outstanding job, but I’m adding that puppy to my “to do” list.
