Just finished this 1/35 Ardennes Front King Tiger from Tamiya. Paint is Apple Barrel Khaki and Nutmeg Brown craft paint and the green is Modelflex Medium Green. This was certainly a pleasure to build.
As Tamiya kits usually just fall together, instructions are great, it’s easy to feel spoiled. I love them, but then move on to something else that’s limited production etc and sometimes get frustrated.
Anyway, your King Tiger looks sharp. I have never sprayed those craft paints. Would you mind telling how you thin them?
I thin them with windshield washer fluid 50/50 ratio. The Modelflex I’m struggling with, they say can be sprayed straight from the bottle. I need to research what it could be thinned with. Having trouble with it clogging up my brush and overspray. I’m limited to a single action airbrush and cheap Harbor Freight compressor.
At 58 cents a bottle I do like the craft paint!
Fantastic job on the King Tiger Shoop! That camo scheme turned out great and I’m really glad to hear that you also use the craft acrylic paints too. I also think mine with the blue windshield washer fluid too. I’ve found that the metallic craft paints spray a little better than the regular colors. The cost of modeling supplies are slowing creeping upwards and it’s nice to find a less expensive alternative.
Nice job on the camo scheme colors.
The camo came out really nice.
Love it. I built this kit many years ago, my first armor kit, and still have it on my display shelf. Although I didn’t build the motorcycle for some reason. Stuck it away in my spares box, where it still resides.
