Tamiya Indy snapkit, project finally finished

This has been an ongoing project for some time. I don’t usually dabble in cars but occasionally one takes my fancy and I have to give it a try. I saw this kit in the hobby shop and was immediately drawn to the striking colour scheme. I almost invariably muck up the gloss finish of cars and on finding out that this was a snap together kit I almost gave it a pass. But it was a Tamiya kit and gee, I like that finish, So I gave it a try.

This is straight out of the box except for an aftermarket harness set, (very much a fiddle but worth it.) I somehow managed to do an okay finish with rattle cans by Tamiya. Decaling was a love/hate affair as they look good but nothing in my arsenal of setting solutions seemed to have any effect on them and consequently each had to be meticulously prodded into position. I’m happy with the result and wish more of Tamyia’s kits were snap together.

Thanks for looking, and don’t be put off by Tamara’s snap together kits. I’ve just got to find the other colour scheme of this kit which is somewhat hard to find in Australia.
Cheers,
Dan

Nice job Dan, looks great. Great paint job!

Ahhh,
Back when Indy cars were really something! Raol Boesel and Dick Simon Racing, though I remember this combination as Simon Racings swan song.
Very nice build of a great kit, I have two of the K-Mart cars, One for Nigel and one for Mario.
Snap together is a bit vauge for these kits, though. I prefer to call them Curb side Intoductory kits.
Again, You did a great job!
