Tamiya F-16C/J 1 3/2 Scale

Help please?? Ive encountered a problem with part F12. The bulkhead that separates the main wheel bay. The main landing gear (Metal Parts) has been super glued and screwed in to the recess in the aft bulkhead. But when i tried to dry fit part F12 it appears to be about 5mm to big?? WHAT HAVE I DONE WRONG. I completed the F-15E Strike Eagle 1/32 last year and i found that it had a nasty fault, attaching the main cockpit section to the main fuselage on the port side there was a huge gap has the F-16 been put out with a problem or have i screwed up Regards Noel

Ouch. The only thing I can suggest, not having experience with this particular build, is to get some super glue debonder and tear down what you have done. Then double check the assembly. Usually there is not THAT much of a fit problem, but it could be the kit…

Well, I haven’t built mine yet, but do you mean 5mm too long? In otherwords, the landing gear is 5mm too far forward and it’s keeping F12 from going between the gear and F21?

thanks for the message,Im talking about the F-15E

Hi: to Bones-ca Yup you might be corect but the small housing designed for this part appeared to be OK . The screw goes in no problem, but part F12 is acting like a scorned woman ,looks good but does not do what its supposed to ??? . I tried to dry fit it first, no problem. Sorry i was talking about the model not the women!!!

Hmmm…well, if the metal gear is indexed in the right place, all I can say is trim F-12 to fit. However, if it were me, I think I’d want to do what Vinny said: debond it and see what happened. Clean all the parts up after you get it apart then dry fit everyhting and you may see something amiss much easier.

Thanks, but how or what do i use to eat out Super glue!!

Nail polish remover (must have acetone).

You can also get CA de-bonder, should be able to buy it at the same place you bought the CA in the first place, if not try your local hardware store.

Ive just grabbed a bottle of Nail Varnish remover?? Wish me luck,im going in. This could be messy
