Tamiya Corsair/Zvezda La-5 quick questions

Two random kits to throw together, I know, but quick questions:

Tamiya Corsair - do the F4U-1A and F4U-1D use the same canopy and/or cockpit detail? Looking around, and I’m only seeing Eduard mask and PE sets for the -1D.

Zvezda La-5 - anybody know if the La-5FN and La-5 share the same windscreen and main canopy? I know the glass aft of the main canopy is different between the two, but it’d be really convenient if the windscreen and canopy were identical.

Thanks in advance for any help!

For the F4U-1A and D, the cockpits were mostly the same. The canopy on the -1D was changed on the 804th a/c produced. The canopies are not that complex, I would save the money on the mask and just use some tape. What scale Tamiya kits are you talking about 1/72 or 1/48.

The canopy and windscreen on the on the La-5 and La-5FN are not the same.

1/48. I’m pretty confident I can mask the canopy of the Corsair (and the La-5)…it’s the curvy bits in the windscreens that give me pause. Hate canopy masking so much…

Micro Mask and a paint brush. It works wonders.

Except that I’m spraying Vallejo…and Micro Mask breaks down when you paint an acrylic over it.

Ah. Haven’t had to deal with that problem before.

Doogs, I just got the Zvezda La-5, and I compared it to my La-5FN. The two windscreens are very different in size and shape.
