Tamiya colors for U.S. armor

Hello,

Has anyone come up with the correct formula for Tamiya paint in the bottles for U.S. armor in the desert?

Thanks in advance,

George

Can you clarify? Do you mean WW2? Do you mean Desert Storm? Do you mean Op Iraqi Freedom?

Sorry about that, Iraqi Freedom and Desert storm

Thanks again, George

ODS, Tamiya Buff is close…OIF, have not seen a mix yet

I love Tamiya paint but also keep MM acrylic and PS for special mixes or particular colors. In this case, order the MM Acryl Desert Storm Sand for ODS & Sand FS33521 for OIF.

Rounds Complete!!

I have had trouble spraying MM. What are the tricks in spraying MM for good results?

What are you thinning it with?

I prefer Windex for MM acrylics, it has just enough ammonia, and “detergent” to make the paint flow well. One thing too is your location. I’m in a desert with REAL LOW humidity. I have to keep a qtip handy to dip in Windex and clean the tip of the airbrush, and thin the heck out of the paint. That means low PSI or else I have spiders

If it’s too muggy in Georgia, you may find that the opposite is true. I lived in Missouri for most of my adult life and the level of humidity drastically effected my painting.
