Here is one of my most recent builds. This is the 1/48 scale Tamiya Beaufighter built pretty much out of the box for the exception of the decals, which are by Eagle Strike. Unit: 93 Sqn, RAAFSerial: N-SK (A8-116)
This Australian built Beaufighter belonged to No.93 Squadron RAAF based in Labuan, Borneo in 1945. The aircraft was named ‘Pistol Packin’ Gremlin’
Sweet build M M the ghost looks fantastic[tup][tup][tup]One of these days i’ll get around to building one of those, but thats after all the Spits and the A-20 not to mention Waddy’s P-40…
Thanks for sharing[tup]
Lovely build Anthony and nicely done on the weathering as well, it looks great [tup][tup].
Alrighty now for a couple of questions, what AM bit and pieces did you put in the cockpit and elsewhere and where did you get the rockets?
Darren, thank you for the comments. The only addition to the cockpit was the addition of photo etched seat belts by True Details. The 60lb rockets were donated to me from a fellow modeller here in Austrlalia. I believe they are from reheat or one of the after market companies, not sure though. I only used the warheads which come seperate in the pack. I cut the tips off Tamiya kit rockets and glued the 60lb warheads on the ends. The only other additions were the decals and the arial made from invisible thread.
Thank you gents I appreciate the comments. I currently have this kit for auction on eBaybut if it does not sell I may donate it to the Bathurst RSL if they would like to display it in their military collection.
Thank you once again.
Regards,
Anthony
Very nice build, Anthony, especially with the subtle weathering and fading. Glad to see you back on these forums; seems you’ve been a stranger here lately!
