Tamiya 20mm Flakvierling 38

Hey Guys,

Just finished up a “quick and dirty” fill in project. It had a bunch of clean up as do most of these small kits. Added some PE (missed the fact is was for another kit…LOL, made it work. ) Still trying to perfect my rusting skills. Hope you like…

The kit…

I chose not to use the trailer and the ammo boxes, seemed too busy! Thanks for stopping by!

Outstanding work! I am not sure why but I haven’t seen this Tamiya kit before. Love the base. [Y]

That looks great, lots of nice detail and the weathering looks awesome

Really nice job on an oldie.

Hard to tell from the picture, but the barrels look to be unpainted. I’m pretty sure they should be a gunmetal.

Very nice. I especially like the weathering effects. I think I hate you. (kidding)

I think you made the right decision to keep the display simple. Too much stuff would’ve detracted from that jewell of a model.

I like the paint effects for the ghost ship look [Y]

I agree with the mention above about the non-painted brass guns. I think they need to be painted. Or maybe you just propped this up for the picture?

Excellent work[:D[…cheers…Kenny

I can’t believe parts of that kit are plastic!Nice job.

Thanks guys! All your comments are most appreciated!

Tiger & Sprue, It’s the angle and the reflection off the bass.[;)] The barrels were painted with gun metal and Mig Grease & oil and some weathering pigments. I guess I didn’d take a pictue that shows the barrel from the side…LOL. This one is from the painting stage.

As for the base…stole a cover from my wife’s candle in the living room. It’s now a duel purpose model…conversation piece & air freshener! It still smells like “Clean Cotton”…

That is some very nice work on Tamiya’s #102.
You got those fiddly shields just right!

Thank you for sharing.

As always
Boarder

Very nice [Y].

Regards, Rick

Thanks guys, appreciate the kind words.

Fiddly is the understatement…LOL. Me and my big fingers kept knocking things apart.

Cheers!

very nice,I like everything about it. [:D]

Great dress up of an old kit! Paint looks fantastic [Y]

Thanks a lot guys! I have my eye on a couple of “newer” kits I want…but having a lot of fun working out techniques on my stock pile of older cheap kits. Short money and the upgrades are not that expensive. Hopefully make something nice from something outdated.

Thanks again!

I think you did a really nice job on that old kit. You really dressed it up well!! [Y]

very resourceful [Y]

Thanks Guys![;)]
