Tamiya 1/48 scale A6M2-N Rufe

No scratch building went into this other than a couple broken parts I had to remake. My entire focus for this build was to practice my seams and some paint techniques.

Practice makes perfect. The panel lines look great!

Really nice job on one of my favorite old school models. I built this kit way back when I was 19 or so. Great simple model and you stepped it up quite a bit. Well done brother.

Great job. The paint looks great and I like the chipping

Looking good! Outstanding weathering.

Thanks everyone. I tried salt chipping for the first time to do the chipping. I also used AK’s IJN paint and covered it overall with amber grey. Then from high above the model I sprayed some matt white to give it kind of an oxidized look.

That is one war weary looking Rufe! Excellent work on that classic kit! [Y] [Y]

Nice job. Looks great.

Thanks! I figure weathered and war weary was the way to go with this since they came early in the war and were never upgraded. I know the cockpit details aren’t all correct but like I said the painting and seams were my main concerns.
