Tamiya 1/35 Sdkfz. 251/9 12 Hour Build

This is my latest completion, the 1/35 Tamiya Sdkfz.251/9 Ausf.D built for the So.Cal. AMPS Zoom 12 Hour Challenge. 3 four hour sessions, one month apart, done during Club Zoom meetings. I did replace the kit decals with some Star Decals markings for Panzer Lehr Division in Normandy. I also used an Aber brass antenna, as well as adding a few bits of stowage from my spares bin into the troop compartment. Paints used were AK Real Colors and Tamiya for the main scheme, along with Vallejo and AK 3rd Gen for most of the detail painting, along with some AK Real Colors marker work here and there, and AK mud on the running gear….

Thanks for looking, comments and critiques are welcome

Mean looking rig. 12 hours… just wow. Camo looks great - did you free hand that?

Came out good, nice work!

Thanks guys!

John, I do agree about the look of the 251/9. With the short 75mm gun and angled armored plates, it sure does have a mean look. Yes, the camo was all done freehand using Tamiya acrylics over a base of AK Real Colors Dunkelgelb using my Badger Patriot. Man do I love that airbrush!
