I am basicaly done putting this kit together and really had a fun time with it. The problem lies with the magnetic panels. They really don’t fit seemlessly. I really don’t want to glue them on but that really leaves me with only the option of leaving the engine open. Has this happened to anyone else and is there a fix?
Hi Itz! Welcome to the Forums! Glad to have you with us.
Can’t help you with the problem, but I suggest you go to the Aircraft section and post your question there. I don’t build many 1/32 planes. Not too much room in the loft. I’ve heard about the tiny magnets used to hold panels on planes but haven’t come across them (yet).
I was also a part of the round the world Spitfire GB, and worked in the wing and flap area.
We kept a running website on the build, which was password protected during the build so that the recipient of the model would be kept unawares, He was the original master of the Fleet Air Arm/RAF Group builds on this forum which was great fun and ran for many years. Here is the link to the webpages for the round the world build, now unclassified and free for all to see:
Here is a photo of the model in progress, with the cowl installed:
And lastly, a wartime photo of the nose of a Seafire. The cowls on wartime airplanes were much rougher than the perfect modern restorations, as the photo shows.
