Started this back in early June…have had some setbacks but more-or less done w/some things to do (aerial wire, touch-up paint, a few PE parts for canopy, etc.).

Very nice
Wow! Awesome job. Love the finish and panel line detail. Your engine work and cockpit are outstanding. Great job.
That’s got great details. It looks amazing and is huge. Well done.

That is looking all kinds of spectacular!
Excellent work. [Y][Y][Y]
Oh wow! Beautiful work!!! [ht]
Outstanding work on this “Zero”. Your cockpit work puts this plane over the top.
Thx everyone! The panel lines are simply a Flory “Dark Dirt” wash over Testors gloss. It’s a bit much considering this particular aircraft was at Pearl Harbor and at that time the Japanese took meticulous care of their aircraft…even polishing them…but the wash adds great detail…and because the wash is clay…you can wipe off as little or as much as you want w/water. No harsh chemicals. It’s not as detailed as using pin washes…but at the “two foot” rule it rocks.
I really like working the engines and the cockpit and if you want to see a progression of shots, I’ve posted them at my web site https://www.fdmodels.net There’s also a nice set of progression shots from my 1/32 Corsair engine as well. I have a long way to go to reach Wauchop’s or Greene’s level…or a lot of the folks here…but you have to start somewhere. ![]()
Find the blog entry for this aircraft. It’s a WIP and I’ll be adding text to explain some of it. It’s really not that hard to get this level of detail on 1/32d scale aircraft. Number one…the kit details are excellent and number 2…just take your time.
Here’s a quick set of pics from the site:

Stunning work…
That’s very nice work, and it is certainly a great kit.
You may want to research the color of the back of the prop, it would really be hard to see through it especially with a following sun.
Agree…I’m waiting on some turnbuckles to finish the aerial and I’ll paint the backside black then.
A outstanding finish, may I recomend that you enter a photo to the digital readers gallery.

beautifully done… [Y]
