I’m a new member, new to r/c and this is my first post. I have a 1/16 Tamiya King Tiger full option. I’m having a problem getting the turret to rotate more then 1/4 turn to the left and hardly any rotation to the right. Also, most of the time when it rotates to the left it doesn’t want to come back to center. Any help, thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have the 1/16 static Tiger II, so I can’t answer your RC question, other than to suggest you make sure nothing is fouling the wiring and other mechanisms in the turret and hull in that area. I’d also check the actual parts that facilitate rotation and make sure there is no extraneous plastic or glue or some other obstruction present.
Obvious stuff, but it’s all I got for ya!
J-Hulk: thanks for the welcome and reply. I’ve looked at everything but I might also try it with the hatch open and a flashlight to see if there’s any binding. It’s a really nice r/c tank and I’d like to get it working as well as my Tiger 1.

Definately check to see if all the wiring is out of the way ( check to see if you have given the barrel recoil-elevation mechanism too much slack, it may be binding on turret rotation. Make sure you feed them through the round hole in the metal turret brace). I would also check to see if there is any loose debris in the gear “Teeth” themselves.
You can also use a plastic safe grease (if you have some of the supplied white grease left over from the gears) Don’t use petroleum jelly, it will soften the plastic.
When you replace the turret on the hull, make sure it’s pushed all the way down, before turning it toward the front. You will here the clicking sound, of the gears, if done properly.
When I was finished with my tiger, I made sure that all the wires stayed in place, with a lot of zip ties.

I had the same problem with Tiger 1.
Here is what I did. I fliped the turret upside down then I polished the groove that sits on the steel balls and applied a thin film of grease and now my turret turns very smothly.
I don’ t know if Tiger ll has this groove or the steel balls but if it does its worth a try. [;)]
