TAM?

Does anyone make an injection kit of the Argentinian light tank, the TAM?

If not, I wonder why not, considering that Trumpeter made a kit of the Osorio, a vehicle that never went into production. Why not the TAM? Several hundred of them are still on active duty in the Argentinian army, and they are always blustering at the Brazilians (and vice versa).

An Argentine resin company made an AM update kit for the Tamiya Marder Chassis some years back. One was for the VCTP (infantry vehicle) the other was for the TAM 3. I don’t know if it is still available or not.

There are a lot of locally produced and modified vehicles out there, and the Manufacturers just have so much to choose from. Often a limited production of a vehicle might be released to test the market - ie, AFV Club tested the market with its Aussie M113 FSV and Academy the Dutch YPR, but more often than not the Injection guys produce a safe bet for the common market - why else so many Tigers and Sherman’s lately?

TAM always struck me as looking kindof like a Marder chassis with a Leopard turret. Think it’s possible to kitbash the two? (I’m too lazy to drag out my Jane’s)

NTM

Right, but as Tumpeter released a kit of the Osorio (a vehicle that never even went into production), I wondered if anyone had done the TAM – the advantage of the TAM is that it is an actual tank, as opposed to an APC, so it’s “sexier,” if you get my drift. And it’s stationed right on a front line with Brazil, not a completely safe frontier – unlike say the German/French or Mexican/American border, Argentina and Brazil are actual adversaries. Hopefully we won’t, but it’s not inconceivable that we might see the TAM fight in battle in our lifetimes.
