My next project, something a little different (for me). Can you identify the aircraft this engine set comes from?
Here she is with the basic body put together
And now with the plumbing added
And from the other side
I am going to venture to say that it is the Trumpeter Mi-17/Mi-8 kit. I think that those are the engines that is on there.
HTH,
Austin
Either you are very knowledgable on helos or have the kit or maybe both.
I have the kit [:I]
Aaahhh,
Nice motors. I was going to guess something completely different, and I was going to be very wrong. I’m sure it’s going to turn out great. I love that H-34 on your website.
Semper Fi,
Chris
Thanks Chris, alway had a soft spot for the H-34.
So now more plumbing and some electrical wiring has been added.
So this is what the kit cockpit looks like before I add any scratch material.
Nothing is glued down yet and I still have to fix the tops of the IPs.
Looking VERY GOOD as always Swanny
Bud
Absolutely fantastic stuff, Swanny.
Please tell me those engines will get shown off by leaving the cowlings open.
Thanks guys. I think I will display this on a dio base with the engines getting inspected and some cargo being loaded.
Always glad to see somebody building Mil helos.
Engines look great although they are missing supports. The 'pit of Trumpeter kit is a separate story)))) To make it right everything need to be scratchbuild.
Here is nice walkaround for reference

Further development of the front office
I’m not especially thrilled with the seats. Trying to decide if I should rip them out and overhaul them or just let it be.
The ‘New and Improved’ seat
Looking GOOD Swanny as always
Bud
And here is the cockpit floor complete.
Next I have to work on the overhead consol then detail the sidewalls and inside of the nose glazing. This is a nice, basic kit but it sure begs for extra work to look good.
Awesome work!
Keep it up!
Andy
Swanny,
Sweet looking build so far. Only comment that I would give you is to double check the collectives, in the walk around that was posted above you can see that they are level with the seat and not almost vertical. When the collective is positioned as you have it there would be a tremendous amount of pitch in the main and tail rotor blades.
Other than that, I hope that when I start my Hind it looks half as good as your Mi-8 looks so far. Once again I am impressed!!!
Thanks for posting,
Matt
Holy cow swanny I like the wash and dirty look of that girl! Gotta love dem girls dirty! Clean uns are just to blaahhhh
Excellent catch there. I just checked my reference pictures and sure enough the collectives are not correct. It’s not too late for me to fix that – thanks for the tip.
