Also known as T-90SM… It features a welded turret instead of the T-72B cast turret of the first T-90’s… Anyone has info about this turret?.. maybe drawings, photos don’t help too much… I have a T-72A from Zvezda, maybe I can scratchbuild the turret for a T-90, as the other modifications (but the Shtora system), believe it or not, are easy to build for me (with a lot of patience)… Thanks in advance. You would have to scratch an entirely new turret. With putty and immense pateince, you could do regular T-90 witht the cast turret, but the welded turret is totally different. AEF designs makes a conversion for the regular T-90S which I am currently working on. It would be more advisable to use only bits and pieces from AEF and get the miniarm turret and front hull.
You will also have to scratchbuild new front hull/ fenders, since the T-90 uses a completely different style than the T-72. The best reference on the T-90 is the T-72 and T-90 tank by Steven Zaloga.
It has many pictures and line drawings, but unfortunately none of the welded turret.
Alos, make sure thet T-72 from dragon comes with the 6 bolt roadwheels- the T-90 doesnt use the 8 bolt like old T-72’s did.
