hi guys-- i’m trying to figure the tubing for the fuel injection on my t-34 engine – here is a pic of what i.m talkin about–i cant get enough reference on this area(the tubing on this engine is the blue pipes) this is similiar to the firing order of a auto ign. system-- the liejon schoot model on tanktrax doesnt show it clear enough either-- thanks treadwell[:D]
please guys any help at all!!-- i’m really stuck-- cant find the fuel injection ‘firing order’ any where-- from the pic it seems simple – but is really hard to be sure which pipe goes where–i need a w-2-34 engine manual or something but can’t find one online-- t-34 reference of this type should be plentiful but i have been trying for a long time and cant come up with it[:(]-- thanks – [banghead]-- treadwell
actually i think these lines may be for the air starter-- dam–[censored][banghead]–treadwell-- my learning curve is slow --sorry
Hi Treadwell,
I bet you’ve seen these pages…
http://www.gjames.com.au/chris/t34/service.html
There’s lots of great information and fantastic drawings in them, but they don’t quite cover the firing order.
However, I do have what you need…
Here’s the order: 2-11-10-3-6-7-12-1-4-9-8-5
The cylinders are numbered from front to back starting on the left hand side, so the left bank has 1-3-5-7-9-11, the right bank is 2-4-6-8-10-12. Like this…
Of course, the next question is how the air distributor is laid out. I guess a picture would be easiest. Let’s see what I can do to your pic…
Here’s a couple more enlargements…
I take it you’ve seen the reference photos of the T-34’s engine on Tanxheaven…
http://tanxheaven.com/ludob/t34engine/t34enginelb.htm
Have you seen the ones on The Tank Master site?..
http://www.thetankmaster.com/ENGLISH/AFV/V-2-34_01.asp
Good luck with it…lots of little wires. But hey, at least it doesn’t have a supercharger like the Hispano Suiza 12Y-31which was one of its predecessors…
man o man!! thank you so much[:D]–this is EXACTLY what i was looking for— and might i say the photo enhancement with the lines numbered and air distributor numbered --even showing direction of rotation-was more than i could have hoped for— [wow][tup]-- super super job–i built the lines for the air distributor last night-- now i can attach them to what i now know is thier exact correct position .— i’ll post some pics when i’ve made a little more progress-- thanks again colo_artist!!-- and p.s. i am glad it is not the Hispano Suiza – what a plumbing nightmare!![:P] thank you --treadwell
Great. I look forward to seeing pics of your T-34. Take care.
Is this a great place or what?!?!?!
Let me guess Colorado, you didn’t have these images when I was working on mine, did you??
Email me offline, let’s talk about a details story on T-34s for the website.
Jeff
Terry Here again,
I got your mail, as I said I think its 5.5mm between each cylinder. Also on the main fuel metering you will need to scratchbuild a throttle. The Throttle is linked to the crank by a chain drive. and then linked to the throttle linkage. You will find that I already posted some of these shots. If I get time in work next week I will get some of my sketches photographed and post them.
As for the batteries I think they were dry cell, the photos I have show what seems to be dry cells linked together and placed in wooden boxes. I will get mine measured and mail you the dimensions, as I had to try several times because the space between the floor and the radiator bracket is very limited.
Regaards,
Terry.
