T-34-100

A tank you don’t see too often, it’s a multimedia kit from Maquette.

Maquette’s T-34-100 - by “Art Instructor” :

Enjoy!

I like the sand-blasted, no-maintenance look.

True, don’t see mnay of these. Is it Egyptian? Nicely done.

Woaw!, that’s a T-34, its barrel is huge, and its turret is much bigger, why is it like that?

Wow!

Thats a new one on me! Someone was playin’ “How big a’ gun can fit on this here tank?”.

Nice paint job too.

A T-34 on steroids…I need to get one of those[8D]

Another fine addition to the collection MM,very nice[tup]

Very cool. I have never seen that tank before.

Art, how was it to build?

This is very interesting. Well executed model as usual but the subject is way too cool. I didn’t know this tank ever existed.

Now I need one.

Hello ,

Cool ! A Beast like that is few , and far between. Great work !.

Many thanks for your kind comments and compliments! I really appreciate them!

Yes, this is an Egyptian tank. Here’s some information from Maquette - the kit producer :

“Some Egyptian T-34-85 were modernizations for armament strengthening on the eve of war 1973. Egyptian have managed to mount on it a Soviet 100 mm BS-3 field gun. The turret sides and bottom parts were standard, but head and rear are removed and replaced of primitive and rather bulky superstructure by light armor sheets. Battle weight of the T-34-100 has a little bit increased, but the dynamic characteristics have not practically changed. Certainly, that this machine was already it is impossible to use as a tank but only as a self-propelled gun.”

If my memory serve me right, the BS-3 is the most powerful gun of the Russian in WWII. The Egyptian also mount a D-30 122mm modern gun on the T-34, this is also from Maquette - T-34-122 :

Imagine what these things coulda done at Kursk… assuming they escaped the 88’s of the Tigers! Kinda huge profiles…

Beautifully executed, MM, both of them! Give my congratulations to “Art Instructor.”

Would love to get my hands on one of these models.

that is the craziest thing I have ever seen, I would imagine they would have to up the engines also just to carry that beast of a turret/gun

Kind of along the lines of the M4A2 with an AMX13 turret…interesting but not totally functional/practical. Still makes a neat model.

This is a somewhat rough kit in the box. I have it but am not sure when I will get around to building the thing due to the large number of improvements that will need to be made. I think I may go for the Accurate Armour kit. If I don’t do that, I may put the turret on a DML T-34 hull and at least try to replace the barrel. Overall, Art Instructor has put together a good looking model.

Superb work, I really like the weatherin’.

Many thanks for all kind comments and compliments since my previous reply! I really appreciate them!

I seem to have a ugre to build a T-34 before I move on to planes, hum, maybe.
