T-29/C-131 kit?

Are there any kits of the T-29 or C-131 in 1/72 scale out there?

Thanks in advance for the info.

Testors maid a Convair C-131 in 1/72, not in production anmore but check on e-bay. I find some nice old kits there.

The Testors kit was a re-release of an old Hawk kit that is closer to 1/144 scale or some other odd box scale. Good article sometime back in FSM on improving the kit. Not aware of any other injection molded kit-probably something that has been released in resin or vacuform.

here is that old kit:

There’s an old vacform out there by Execuform for the 340 and 440.

I’ve never seen it but if it’s like the other Execuform kits I have it’s pretty crude but buildable.

Thanks for the info. Gary. Now I don’t suppose you would have any idea where I could buy one of these kits? [:)] I looked around on line some but no dice…

My Dad flew C-131D’s from Randolph AFB in the early- to mid-70’s. The old Hawk kit has a pretty good outline, and is pretty easy to build. Testor’s reissued it a number of years ago and should be easy to find (one of these graces my Dad’s bookshelf). Proteus issued a 1/72 kit with resin wings and vac-form fuselage a couple of years ago, but cost way more than I could justify for something with a vacuform fuselage. I would be first in line for a decent 1/72nd scale injected Convair model, though. So to your question, I have two of the Execuform kits that I would be willing to part with- please feel free to contact me off line (dwblackw@comcast.net).

Faller made an injected Convair 440. I believe it came out in the early '70s. It’s tough to find, but they do turn up occasionally at swap meets & online. The kit number was 1440.
