"Sweet" Zero

Sweet Zeke,

I build almost exclusively in 1/32nd scale but I deviated from the program and picked up the little “Sweet” models 1/144 Zero and was I surprised. If you have never built a 1/144 scale kit, consider this one.

I got the box in my greedy shaking hands on Friday, promptly set aside the Trumpeter Thud I am working on and spent the weekend building the little bird. One word… incredible! By far the best 1/144 scaled kit I have ever seen, better than nearly all of the 1/72nd kits and some of the 1/48th. If almost falls together. No fit issues at all!

The engraved panel lines are phenomenal, IN SCALE and accurate! The decal sheet is just as good as the model. Had I chosen to paint the plane in the gray-green shade the included canopy decals would have also been perfect. But loving pain I went the light gray route so my eyes are crossing from hand painting the framing under a magnifying glass.

One question guys, where might I get a 1/144 pilot figure worthy of this aircraft as I would like to display this little gem in a flying mode?

Hey “Sweet” how about a cosair!

Mike

wish i could help. havent ventured into the 144 scale yet post some pics though. want to see the bird.

I too would like to see some pics. I tend to stay away from 144 because they have a tendency to be toy like. Maybe the manufacturers are finally realizing that if they don’t do it right nobody will buy them.

C’mon man, show us the pics!!! [:P] Most of us can barely read you know, and all we do is look at the pretty pictures!!! [;)][:D]

Hey Mike,
So where are the pix??? Dont be shy!! [:p]
Flaps up, Mike

Guys,

Pics forthcoming however hit an image snag. To remedy the problem I just ordered a close up lens for my camara, the shots I took were way fuzzy. I will get em up soon as my lens arrives.

Mike

We want pics! We want pics! We want pics!

I never gave any thought for this scale because of detail “problems”.
Show us some pics and please inlight me

Great to hear that a deserving scale is finally getting the detail it deserves.
