Just got the January Squadron Flyer. They have the Tamiya TM 89628 on sale for $40.00. Was $116.00. Seemed like a deal to me as the Fruil metal tracks cost almost as much as that. Am I missing something here or is this that good a deal?
I saw the same thing and thinking about purchasing one as well. for $40 with all that extra goodies, can’t go wrong.

Not knowing how many they may have in stock to sell at that price I ordered mine before I posted the information on here. Wondered if there would be a run so wanted to get mine before it could happen.

That’s a great price. I ‘caught’ the special a couple of months ago @ $59.00, figuring that that is about the price of an eBay kit + metal tracks + metal barrel. I’m almost considering adding another one at that price ($40.00). However, the shelving came down in the closet and my wife noticed that I had three of the same kit. I proceed to explain that they were three Tigers, but one was Early, one Mid & one Late. I didn’t go into the zimmerit thing though…Given my build rate, the three kits I have will probably last me for quite a few years.

At 40 that is a good price, considering a year back I was able to pick the kit up from ebay at 40 after shipping and I considered it a steal. The online price still says 116 though, do squadron charge differently online?
Three different Tamiya kits-one Early, one Mid & one Late. However, the boxes all said Tiger & Tamiya and look similar…so they’re the same, right? [:D]
Finally got through to Squadron…they are still showing kits in stock if anybody wants one…or three!
I ordered two of them. Will go good with the new projects I am starting. Doog You have cursed me with wanting to build German armor again. Not a bad thing, but a curse none the less. My wife is going to kill me! Thanks for the inspiration. Will still continue with my SADF, and Rhodesian stuff though.
I tried to order mine online at 1:30 am New Years morning. Run into the same problem you guys did. Price would not adjust to the sale price and noplace to put the catalog code in. Called Squadron and got a answer right away and they took the order over the phone.
Thanks, again SMN! I ordered two. I’m interested to see if they can meet the demand without a backorder. When I finally got through last night, they told me that the warehouse was closed for inventory and no order would be processed until late today. Looking forward to this kit!
