Super Hornet, Foxtrot type

With all the craziness of my kitbashes, I decided I needed to do an easy build to clear the cobwebs. Actually following instructions that are provided is such a nice change. This is the Revell F/A-18F and I will be doing this out of the box, except for the markings. I never did care for the Navy decommissioning the Wolfpack, so this one will be carrying the colors of VFA-1.[swg].

Eddie

Nice looking front office there Eddie, keep us posted with more pics as the build progresses.

Cheers

Eddie. I see your office detailing skills have improved, that office looks great!

Well Done!

Air Master

Here’s my progress of late. My proposed load out and a modification to the ECM pod.

Eddie

Looking good Eddie. Keep us posted.

Regards, Rick

Very nice Eddie!

Thank you Rick and Colin! Moving along at a fair pace so far. Here’s tonight’s installment.[:)]

Eddie

THe airplane looks great, but no kitbash?!?!

OK, whoever you are…what have you done with Eddie?[:)]

Looking good there, can’t wait to see the finishing touches. How would you review the Revell kit [tup] [tdn] ?

Scott

Thank you! For a person on a limited budget, I say this is a good investment. This is my second Super Bug and I really enjoy the recessed lines and the fit is pretty good as well. Yea, I give it a thumbs up.[tup]

Mucker,

I know I probably startled you, but it’s me.[swg] I swear![:-^]

Eddie

Here’s a sneek peek at the markings. Still working on the weathering, but I just had to see what it would look like. VFA-1 lives on![swg]

Eddie

Forward progress to report. Getting close to the finish.[:)]

Eddie

Veeeery nice work on the family model super bug. I thought that you might do the whole thing in colored CAG type markings. VF-1 was always one of my favorite squadrons.

Hi All

first time at doing this, but i am the biggest of the super bug, it was the first model that i had built and also love how the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) are finally replacing the old f-111 with the F/A-18 E/F but enoungh about that, the model is looking great you really need to post some picies when it is completed

Thanks guys!

Darwin,

I was going to do the whole thing in shades of gray and black, but I just couldn’t resist adding a bit of color from the VFA-41 decals that came with the kit. I just did a bit of surgery on them to make it a VFA-1 bird.

Eddie

Still working on this one. Due the misplaced HUD, I had to scratchbuild one out of strip styrene and clear sheet plastic. I nearly went blind putting it together.[(-D]

Eddie

Very nice Eddie!

Like the Wolfpack markings very much![tup]

Nice work on the hud, read nice. Looks like you’ve got a winner!

Hey Eddie what’s up. This Super Hornet you’re building looks…well kinda normal.[%-)]. You feeling OK? Where is the other set of wings? orr…the other cockpit …or the other tail???

BTW Looks great buddy!

Zip

Thank very much gents![8D]

Zip,

It’s been a long time. Hope you’re doing well.

Yea, this is lookin’ a bit plain, I know.[swg] I had some withdrawls, so I dreamed this one up and slapped it together for a future project. A little Howard Hugnes feel to it, huh?[;)]
