Summertime....

Seeing as summertime is approaching fast, and the sun is out a lot longer, I was wondering how people handle their modeling projects?? Do you put modeling on the back burner to do in the fall and winter months? Myself, I just started this hobby in December, and already I’m finding myself going out more and not paying as much attention to modeling.

What is everyone’s thoughts???

Summer is PRIME modeling time… My time cycles up and down in modleing (and web building… and working on my modeling site). But Summer is always a good time for modleing. After being outside… doing whatever… it’s nice to come in and work on the models for a while late at night… [:D]

I can open the window and not sniff so many paint fumes…[:p][xx(]

I can take my airbrush and spray cans and do that sort of work on my patio again.

I can see what the kit looks like in real light! … and no fumes, and outdoor modelling, and other diversions  -Ed

Summertime is my main modeling time. I teach and have six weeks off during the summer [:D] so I can generally get a lot of uninterrupted modeling time in. Also, my work space is in the basement (where it’s nice and cool!) so I can avoid the heat.

i like summer cause i have school and get off for 6 weeks and a great way of “relaxing” is modeling

Same goes for me. Lots of modeling to do in the summer. I live near many airports here in the northeast. The good weather brings everyone out in droves itching to fly. This always inspires me to do great things. Endless ideas for new projects. The warm weather also helps with ventilation of those pesky fumes.

SUMMERTIME = Models (1/1 female!) ie; Girls, Girls, GIRLS!

Plastic? What’s plastic?

Nothing quite like the smell of dullcote wafting around on my deck. Gotta love summer.

Yep, I model the same all year 'round!

I agree with Blackwolf, summer is when the girls come out! Who needs plastic when there’s silicone? [;)] (jk - I’m a “natural” kinda guy, myself!)

Summer?
You know we have a saying here in England for when the sun comes out, it goes…
“AAAAHHH! WHAT THE ********* IS THAT?”

Yup-- I am also a teacher-- and this summer, I am not working. Instead, the wife is going back to work and I am going to babysit our daughter. Plenty of modeling time when it’s naptime

Also-- my basement is also my workshop-- so much cooler…

chill snibble old man…PROFANITY does not a punchline make…i know that foul language is more or less the norm for people whom have trouble stringing together a coherant scentence…but i dont relish having to explain to my six year old nephew.
what *********** means…he’s a smart boy and probably knows already…but you get the idea…?

I don’t paint outside because all the pollen, catkin fluff and insects in the world seem to stick to enamel. However, it’s quite nice on a still day to sit at a table outside with a beer or G&T and trim and assemble some stuff.

Did not know there was a low, back-burner time for modeling…!

Just popping in here to make a quick edit and post a reminder about language on the forums.

Now we return you to the original discussion. [8D]

I live in Florida…what winter?

Mike

I live in Buffalo, can U say “7 feet of snow?!?”.

Say it with me friends… “7 feet of snow…”

I’ll take snow over hurricanes, mudslides, earthquakes and tornadoes any day!! [;)] (Although, we have had a shaker or two as well as a few tornadoes!) Now if we could have something done about these taxes…
