Su-24 flanker HELP!

i have dragons su-24 flanker and it lacks detail and i want to add more detail to the body of the aircraft. i have seen the work of other people’s work and it looks amazing, but they said they studied the plane in depth and thats how they added all the panels and where all the rivits, i am about ready to throw it!. if any body has or knows how to add the detail im looking for please help

There’s not much room for shortcuts in modelbuilding… You need the references anyhow. Luckily we live in internet times, where decent references are just a few clicks away. Then you get yourself some tools and start scribing, marking rivets and fasteners, adding aerials and stuff like that. Sometimes you can get resin details to help you (like those from QuickBoost). And that would be just about it. If it’s too hard for you to do, and you can’t live with that feeling, just grab another model, a good one this time, and build it, the Su-24 isn’t running away, is it? Gain more skills and think about it again. Good luck with your projects and have a nice day

thanks. i just want to make it look good. thanks for the advice. ill wait till i can go join a local model club or what ever to have somebody show me how to do it.

wait, I thought the Su-24 was code-named “fencer”?

anywho, one could always to a google search for reference pics. or type in “Su-24 walkaround” I get alot of detail shots by googling a walkaround of a specific airframe

Reescribing and adding rivets is no easy task. At least for me.

Dragon’s kit (1/72, right?) is not that bad. I wouldn’t worry much about what others have done to improve the model. It is a hobby, remember?

Anyway, head to www.airliners.net and wikipedia.org to get photos and basic information.
