Well here it is for better or worse my Tamiya Stug III G all finished. Weathered with paint and Tamiya weathering master powders. Flat coated with model master flat. Lost the No tek light and need to find a replacement. What do you guys think? The pictures really do not do it justice.
These are photos taken today under better lighting conditions. In response to the question about the wash, yes I am considering trying on this model. As for the drive sprockets and guide teeth, my weathering obscured the worn metal look I had done. Not sure If I will ever attempt to build a model really dirty again.
Well, you’ve got a severe yellow tinge to your photos, so it’s kinda hard to judge exactly what ya got there, Shannon. I mean, it looks good on its face, but can you get some better-lit pics?
Well, that’s more like it, modelbuilder
I would say that it’s certainly an admirable effort!
I think you went way too heavy with the “dripping rust” on the front glacis.Additionally, fire extinguishers were only painted red after the war ended. Your FE should be painted the base color. And that light on the rear was not red, it should be painted black, I believe.
The rest of it looks fine.I’m curious though–why does your finish loook so grainy, especially on the rear deck there? It looks “pebbled” for some reason?
I have a question for everyone, what is your method of weathering an armor kit? From the start of the weathering process to the end, do you use paints? pastels? washes? dry brushing? or a mixture of all? What is your favorite technique? How would you reccommend that I refine my weathering technique?
