I am posting this as a seperate thread to share with those not involved in the Stug Build Group. This is essencially a total kit bash. I used the suspension of the Dragon Stug III C/D kit as the one packaged with the F was poorly molded. Road wheels are from Tamiya’s Panzer III Ausf. L kit and the photetched is from Aber’s Stug III B/C/D PE set (they do not make one for the F). I also used Model Kasten’s jack brackets from their awesome Stug III G clamps and clasps set. The Fenders are from Aber and the rear stowage rack is built from Evergreen Styrene sheet. Bolt detail was replaced using Histerex’s Round Punch and Die set. The tracks are Fruil ATL-03 early Panzer III/IV Tracks. The wheels are rear idlers are not glued as I paint them off the model, so there may be some misallignment. Comments, suggestions and criticism is appreciated.
Hey J, and thanks for the post. This kit took me almost 50 or so modelling hours just to get this point I think. The references that I am using shows this particular Stug III F in an unknown unit on the Eastern Front sometime in 1943. It will be painted in an overall Dunkelgleb with Dark Green Camo.
Thanks Tigerman. The best thing about doing this kit was working with all the guys in the build group. I probably would not have been motivated enough to complete it to this degree. I have said it before, this forum is one of the best on the net. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Hey Moses, loved the StuG!! the tracks look a ltittle loose to me, especially below and aroundt eh drive sprockets and idler wheels. are the y just loose so you can tak off teh whels for paintin??
Thanks guys, was a fun build. Gringe88, the tracks are a bit loose, but that is becuase the road wheels and rear Idler’s are not glued in for ease of painting off the model. Should be ok, once it is all glued. The one good thing about Fruil is, you can always remove a track link if need be.
great brild sir, but I have to ask as I have so much trouble with it, how do you paint all the tools and equipment that are on the vehicle? Isnt it really hard to do that detail painting with the items already on the tank. I have never had the steady hands to do that.
That is a complete beauty. The biggest kick I get out of this forum is when I see a build like that. It makes me want to drop everything and place an order, lock myself away an build. For now I’ll just gawk. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks for taking the time to post guys. Miller41 I paint everything on the exception of the road wheels and tracks. When using Photo etched, it is a bit hard not to paint on the model. I actually use a little technique of slipping a small piece of .05 styrene sheet under the tool and paint it. That way if you slip, you hit the plastic sheet and not the model. Pretty easy actually.
As usual, great looking build. I think this is the first time I have seen you use this much PE and you have done an outstanding job!! Keep up the good work. I cant wait to see this thing with some paint on it.
