I posted in ships hoping to get a bite .All I can say is Help ! . I read the book " Mutiny " which concerns the Mutiny led by the political officer on the Storozhevoy in 1975 .
Now my question . Did anyone except the two vendors in 1/700 make this class of Russian Ship ?
If so did anyone do it in 1/350 ? If not , what ship from the Russian navy at that time could be modified and " Upscaled "? To 1/350 from 1/700 ? I want to build this ship .
I have found many good pictures and would like to add this very interesting ship to my collected fleet of particular vessels of the worlds navies . T.B. I have to add this P.S. I finally got a pair in 1/700 . Couldn’t pass them up . The price was right and they had a little P.E. too . Hmmm – Two for $5.00
Don’t know about US vendors, but if you plug the link into Google, there is a translate bar on Google for it. It is a cardboard model, 61 cm (call it 24") in length. Can order extras for it like anchor chains, etch or lazer cut stuff for upgrades. Can be done as full or waterline hull.
It looks like there is one available on eBay right now, as a “Buy it Now” product from the Ukraine, selling for about $20, with an additional $10 for shipping.
Thanks to your link , I am now awaiting the delivery of my Krivak ! I ordered the whole enchilada ! That’s with the P.E.Ladders and detail sets . Plus the full hull version . It is Eighteen Euros and I have arranged to have it mailed to a mutual friend in Germany. He will then send it to me . Otherwise the base kit (18 Euros ) plus postage comes to over ( 45 Euros )sent to the U.S.from the seller . Which is Orion Paper Models .

I’m looking forward to your build. I’m intrigued with paper models, but fear that I don’t have the skill or patience for one, so it’ll be interesting to see someone else’s build in process, and see their approach.
Hey ! Paper models aren’t that hard .The biggest thing is Sharp Pointed scissors , Good adhesive ,( Aleens ) and patience . There is not many that can throw you a loop of problems . The only one that did that to me was the Sydney Opera House . I’ve actually been there and building in paper had me developing methods I translated to plastic as well . Oh , I forgot , a steel , one foot ruler and X-Acto knife with lots of sharp blades .
Basic shapes . Tubes and Curves and Angles .As well as a knowledge of specific paper stiffness ( weights ) . Light apps of glue and tying butt joints together with Connectors behind the edges .
Most paper models ( Card Models ) come pre - colored so that’s not a problem . Now if you want , you can paint them too , Plus use P.E. On planes , you can use Vac-Formed canopies and Resin Cockpits too . I always finish with a clearcoat of Acrylic .
Sadly , there’s not much for Armor enthusiasts , and Autos lack the realism of plastic . Planes can be built that when done have folks baffled .( Is it Plastic or Wood ? )
Try it , You’ll like it . I Did ! T.B. P.S. On the Down - Loadable ones , color and weight have to be watched carefully .
Thanks for the info. I bought a paper model of the old Russian Battleship Sissoy Velikiy a few years back just out of curiosity, but never tried to build it yet. Fortunately for an old style pre-dreadnaught the hullform actually looks pretty simple, so maybe one day I will try it.
This , my friend , is no problem . My first Paper-model was the " Angelberg " Reefer ship in 1/250 . It turned out good enough to let me accept a request from a friend to build his " Conti Belgica " for him .
As it turns out the " Conti " ship of that name was lost before the model was made , Salvaged and then sent to the breakers . The model was very interesting , and with the optional paper parts had as much detail as a plastic model with P.E. and plenty of containers .
Unlike the Revell kit , the containers All had different names in the extra kit . It made up into an interesting model with plenty of neat ways to build , outlined in the directions .Turns out there were two ways to do Butt - Ends . I used the recommended one and had no regrets . T.B.
