Hey guys i was just wonderin if anyone makes a good storch model. I know hasegawa makes a 1/32 kit but i was looking for 1/35 scale. Thanks
As a rule, aircraft (outside of helicopters) are not molded in 1/35 (except a couple of old Nichimo WW II Japanese a/c). Are you looking to incorporate the Fiesler with armor or 1/35 vehicles in a diorama ? I have seen convincing dioramas that mix both scales. They are close. Good luck.
Ya i was thinkin about building a diarama of some sort (or at least attempting one) and was just checking before i bought anything if they made one in 1/35. That hasegawa kit looks realy cool, and i cant wait to get my hands on one. Also, do you have any suggestions of what I should use for pilots? thanks for the help pixilater
The Revell Germany version ( number 04714) of the Hasegawa kit might be easier to find & may be cheaper. There was a build/review of the kit in Scale Aviation Modeller International (April 2002, go to sampublications on the net for back issues) Eduard does a detail set (32 044) and a mask set (XL 001) for the canopy. The article doesn’t mention a pilot figure. There are 3 decal options, One for the desert, one for the Eastern front, and one for a ski equipped aircraft attached to the XIX panzercorps in winter camouflage. Hope some of this helps,

Smaller than you are looking for, but might be an idea for a very small dio, Academy do the Storch, complete with Kubelwagen. All you would need to add would be a few figures!
agreed, the new academy kits with the vehicles goodies seem tempting.
a kind of funny fact about the revell release of hasegawas storch, is that they didn’t even bother to remove the hasegawa loggo from the sprue 
What about switching to 1/72… Heller and Academy have decent kits of the beast and all the armour you need is probably available too. And think of all the space you’ll save! LOL
I have the 1/32 Haswegawa. it’s an impresive kit to me? I forget right now exactly which PE aftermarket detail I have in the box. But it’s enough to keep me annealing, cutting, filing, sanding, and playing with tweezers, tape, and magnifying glasses for sometime to come. The Kit came with two officer figures already. An officer capped Pilot figure for the cocpit and a standing figure. I have some low light (dark) photos I took at the US Air Force Musem of a desert painted storch hanging from the cieling. Iam trying to figure out this whole image hosting/posting thing now. I’d be happy to email them to you if you like in the meantime. MGTAYLOR2000@aol.com
I have both the Heller and the Academy kits on the shelf and have built several of the old airfix kits. They all definatly look like the Storch. Problems I’ve noticed are: A. Landing gear is too long, representing the gear extended in flight (Airfix and Heller, haven’t checked the Academy kit yet). And if you want accuracy, all three kits have the representation of the wing fabric wrong. They indicate that the entire main body of each wing is fabric covered. I worked on a French built Storch about 15 years ago and noted that the fabric on the wings covers a rectangle on the top and bottom of the wings, which begins about 5 feet outboard of the wing root extending outboard to about 2 feet from the tip and extending fore and aft (chordwise) fromabout a foot aft of the leading edge back to about 6 inches forward of the trailing edge (in front of the flaps and ailerons). Had a really weird method of attaching the fabric too. (but that wouldn’t be noticable on a 1/72 model)
