Hi all. Been quite some time since I’ve posted my work here. Thought I’d let you all know that yes I am still working on the rusty things. Here are a couple of pics to show what I have been up to.
I figure I’ll still be rusting vehicles for a while, waaay too many ideas in my head to keep me busy.
Beautiful! If you didn’t point it out, I think one would be hard pressed to notice that it is a model. Did you use the same rust effect chemicals found in the Micro Mark catalogue. Your work reminds me of the “Grundy Salvage” dioramas shown in the Micro Mark catalogue.
I’d love to know how you did it. Can you describe your technique? This would work well as a weathering method for large scale ships such as the Italeri Schnellboote or the large scale Lindberg tugboat or tuna boat.
Can this method work on a wood model? I would love to try it on a steam launch I built many years ago to run on live steam. I think the boat would look good with some “rusty scuppers.”[:D[
Looking good as usual Rob! Normally it’s not a good thing to let the “moss grow” under your feet but in the case of the HT the reverse is true. [;)] [B]
Lovely work overall on the halftrack especially the rust effect. The only mildly negative comment i’d have is that the tyres would have looked better flat.
