Stencils for hand painted decals

Does anyone hand paint decals or know of stencils you can use?

You didn’t specify what kind and size of markings you wish to paint. There are a number of companies such as Alliance Modelworks and Lion Roar that make stencils for painting markings in various scales, mainly national insignia and code letters/numbers. You can also go the old fashion route of making your own stencils with tape or paper, a job made much easier by being able to size and print out graphics on computers.
Maybe if you specify what you’re after, we’ll be able to supply some smarter and more relevant assistance.
Cheers.

I have done this. However, I bought the stencils a number of years ago. They are getting very hard to find today, as computer graphics has reduced the need for stencils a lot. Still, check office supply stores and particularly art supply stores.

I have also printed letters/numbers out on adhesive labels, cut out the graphic, applied the rest to a decal sheet as a stencil. One must spray very lightly through those because if the paper gets too wet the paint will bleed through.

There are a no of stencils produced by Archer Fine Transfers, vehicle markings, etc…

Opps my bad. I am talking about painting the stars and easier markings on 1/48 scale aircraft. I am currenlty on a 1/48 scale WWII American aircraft run. Will be starting Japan and Germany next. I would think a red meatball and a swastika would be pretty easy.
