I finished both projects I had going at almost exactly the same time tonight, (Trumpeters SA-2 Guideline Missle on transport trailer and Verlindens Jolly Roger) I took a few pictures which I will try to post here tomorrow. Now I am staring at my stash trying to decide what I want to build next, man, I hate these decisions!
So how do you guys decide which kit to start next when you are staring at your stashes?
I pick the one that I am most preparded for. Correct paint, enough refference materiel, AM parts etc. And if that fails, I open the boxes one by one and see which one screams Build Me Next![:o)]
I usually just go through my stash and open a few kits until I find something that I want to build. Unless I have just bought a new “must have” kit and want to start immediately building the kit, like the DML Tiger I.
Oh! I just close my eyes, and reach into the pile. If I don’t like what I pickout, I close my eyes, and reach into the pile again. Usually by the third or forth try, I find something.[:)]

I made a “Order of Build” list that mixes up all my subjects so I’m overworking too many models of one type, starting at easier models and moving up to the one I want to build after gaining enough skills to do a good job on (currently my Tamiya Enzo Ferrari Giallo Modena kit, for a $51 kit I better do a good job on it!) Of course, my stash has around 15 kits in it, so it’s easy to make a list of.
This is kind of the way I like to build also, I have pretty much any subject in my stash, so in order to keep things interesting I will bounce from one subject to another.
sometimes an interesting group build… or if I have a long time consuming build, i’ll pick a simple kit next time… or i’ll switch from allies to axis… or vice versa… and sometimes throw in a wingy thing for a change… hmm do have some cars and trucks setting around… but they are so uncreative…or that got to do it kit… . got the 251 3 in 1 waiting for the halftrack group build…
As I was rearranging my stash to accommodate the stack of recent aquisitions from HL’s half off sale, I got a chance to see everything I have in my inventory, there were several kits I considered for building and settled on Tamiya’s Nastro Azzuro Honda NSR 500, it’s a kit I picked up from HL’s clearance section a long time ago, I have never built a racing motorcycle before so it should be quite interesting, many years back I built a Harley Sportster, but nothing like this.
A study of the instructions gives me the impression that this kit may pose some unique challenges, it comes with some itty-bitty screws and little vinyl tubing for the cables and such, I can’t wait to get started so off I go!
