Star Wars GB feeler.

Yes, alternate markings for star wars machines would be ok. Putting an Me 109 in Imperial markings would not. Thanks for bringing that up, I will make sure its clear in the build thread.

I like that idea Greg. I have two of the Airfix Speeder bikes one I am doing in German 3 tone camo with the riders armour in SS camo. And I have two of the Trade Federation tank one of which will be done in 3 tone, I was thinking as a Pz XXIII.

Bish after looking around I’m leaning towards the Y-Wing Fighter in 1/72 from Fine Molds. I’ve never built anything from them, hows the company?

Bloody awesome. I built their TIE Interceptor a few years back and its a great kit and very nice detail. Smaller than the AMT kits, but defiantly very nice. I have since added Darth’s TIE, 2 TIE Fighters, X-Wing, Y-Wing and Slave 1 to the stash, all in 72nd. And one day I woll fork out for the falcon.

Be nice to see the Y-Wing getting built.

Count me in, sounds fun and thanks

MPC/AMT/Ertl did two different AT-AT kits. One was very large and came with a pair of snow speeders and gun turrets. The other, much smaller snap kit came with a vacuformed base along with several smaller diorama accessories like snow troopers & rebels, some on tauntans and mini AT-STs. It was called “Ice Planet Hoth” and came with X-wings as well as snow speeders and gun turrets. It included two standing AT-ATs and one fallen AT-AT. It was a companion set to the Rebel Base that included a small Falcon and Moncalamari cruiser, Y-wings, X-wings and snow speeders.

The larger AT-AT was one of the original MPC kits and was one of the nicer ones. It came out after The Empire Strikes Back and was reissued in Return of The Jedi with a photo of the AT-AT on Endor. I do not know if the Jedi reissue included the snow speeders and gun turrets.

Rob, when I checked on Star wars models, according to that site, it was only the 2005 release which didn’t include the speeders and turrets but had a movie print instead. All the others, including the Airfix boxing, had those extras.

Edit: after saying that, I just had to go and check mine. Its the RoJ boxing and does have the turrets and speedrs.

I just checked the kit, it’s the 2005 boxing with the movie print. It does come with two turrets, and the snowspeeer I have in there came from a different kit as it’s a different color plastic. It’s not from the Hoth Base set as those speeders are a little smaller. I must have found it in my dad’s spares and brought it home.

Looks like you have the best if both then Bob.

i don’t know much about the star wars universe; star trek, babylon 5, farscape

i just picked up the revell snap tile kit. 12" tall so rather large. looks like greeble fun time if i get so inclined and painting will be very important. lots of flat surfaces so a digital urban camo might be amusing.

I will be keen to see how that Revell kit is.

Do worry wayne, stick around, we will son have you up to speed. [;)]

I would enjoy building a Trade Federation Tank I think.

I did build one before, again, its another that didn’t survive. Its a pretty nice kit from what I remember, no major issues and its a nice size, I think its about 1/32nd scale.

I have a 1/72 Millenium Falcon that is partially started. Probably ~30%, if that’s ok to enter.

Wayne, the Revell kit is the best AT-AT kit available. Of course, the Revell one is from the 2000s and the original MPC kits are from the late 70-early 80s and made by a company renowned for their soft plastic and detail.

Do you have any pics of its current state.

hey ROB good to know. thanks.

on a totally unrelated note, if i drove an M60 over a typical AT mine, is it possible the road wheel arm would be only slightly damaged? lost a 1/72 road wheel and am looking at alternate plans.

Bish, count me in. Don’t know with what, but I have a good collection to choose from.

Be nice to have you on board Nuc.

Well, I just can’t say no to Star Wars or chocolate chip cookies!

MMM, a chocolate chip cookie GB. Might be worth thinking about.
