James Bond was recast. Dumbledore was recast. Though I will admit I miss Sean Connery and Richard Harris.
I wouldn’t want to see the adult Spock or Kirk recast, but younger versions would work quite well, I think.
My thoughts exactly. They have their own personalities which no man can copy.

To comment on recasting a younger Capt. Kirk & Mr. Spock… Well, if they could do so with Capt. Picard, Giannan, Ensign Roe & Mrs. Miles O’ Brien on TNG… Anything’s possible[swg]

My wife and I were hoping for a movie or series with the crew of the Titan. Unfortunately Frakes has apparently balooned up so much HE could double as the Titan itself! I just hope the writing on this new venture is above par.
A new Star Trek movie huh? If its got Kirk and Spock in it, its bound to be good! I can imagine a young Kirk getting up to all sorts…!!

Sorry TANGO but Kirk was obsenely by the book in his youth. He and Picard took opposite paths. Picard was reckless and nearly died, so he settled down a bit. Kirk ended up in a situation where he had to throw away the book! See where he ended up. The Academy scenario has been quashed though. I want a live action version of the Star Trek New Fronteir Books. If you want to read some about Kirk, Spock, and McCoy in the ‘Cad’ try the Starfleet Academy kids books. There are only 3, about 100pgs each, and the stories aren’t bad. I read them in high school[}:)]
I dunno, it seems to me it will be like a star trek version of saved by the bell, I wish they’d go further with Riker on the Titan and what becomes of Data’s twin and what not.
ilikespagetti-I read the novels and there are 3 books in the new Star Trek: Titan series so far. They are some of the best ones. They are #1 Taking Wing, #2 The Red King, and #3 Orion’s Hounds. Riker, Troi, Ogawa, Tuvok!, Leonard James Akaar, and Vale (tactical post-Worf) are out and about. The most diverse crew in the fleet and totally off the wall. I highly recomend them.
I can usually find a ST book to match any interest someone has. I actually have a list I call “10 ST Books for the Non-ST fan” (technically 14 if you count)

Thanks I’ll check into that, but as for the movie, I don’t really see what they can put in there for interest. I mean yeah, when they trash the bridge in the simulation room might be pretty cool again. But the one thing I hope they do put in this one is how Kirk went about reprogramming the simulation from Star Trek 2.
