I used the Paragrafix PE and transparencies on the bridge of my PL TOS big E with great results.
The transparencies are very good quality and the PE blocks the light great. Even though it’s the size of a quarter it looks nice lit up.
I made a bit more progress on Spock today. I puttied and sanded Spock, got a coat of primer on him and started on the base. I also sprayed some test stripes of Luftwaffe light blue, Med ocean grey, and light pearl blue on some sheet styrene. I’m thinking of going with the Luftwaffe blue. It’s not exact but looks the best to me.
Mach…I found a kit today at the LHS: So, I’m officially doing the Polar Lights 1:1000 Enterprise NX-01 Refit. Now, when I will start, is another matter entirely!!! [|-)]
I ordered the Aztec Decal set for the 1/1000th Reliant (which includes the markings and registries for the Nautilus, Majestic, Brattain, Lantree, Tian An Men, and both Saratoga’s (the one from Star Trek IV, and the one from the first episode of DS9)), as well as another bonus: the 1/1000th Enterprise B (which has markings for the Lakota).
I only ordered all that straight from R2’s distributer (Autoworld) last Sunday, and it arrived quick, in only three days.
Anyhow, I’m thinking that I will mark my Reliant as the Brattain (from the TNG episode Night Terrors) or the Nautilus (my brother’s favorite from the sheet, which he thinks should have a dark-colored hull). I won’t be, however, intending to use the Aztec decals on this kit (I’ll probably end up buying one or two more Reliants to use up all the decal goodness from this sheet, so I’ll save the Aztecs for later)
Klik
P.S. let me be honest, I WILL end up buying a few more 1/1000th Reliant kits.
I primed Bones twice this weekend. As I said I’d laid some paint on him but wasn’t happy with it. I found a couple of gouges cut in his face and hands which I had to putty and sand out. No idea how they got there.
I hear ya mach71. When Nimoy passed, my secondary reaction was to find the Spock kit (The Search For Spock or In Search Of…Spock). I came up empty handed after a lukewarm search. I knew like-minded modelers would be snagging up all the Spock models they could get their hands on. When I happened upon the Spock kit in the bookstore, I knew I had to snag it.
