Star antenna?

Whats the normal place for the star antenna to be mounted on a Command Tiger-1?Seen alot of pic’s with it off to the right of the tiger in the normal antenna place. But theres a pic on page 64 of Squadron/Signal publications Panzer Colors III of and early production tiger with it mounted on the roof of the turret.I,ve also seen another pic somewhere, im thinking tigers in combat-1 with early production tiger with the start antenna on the roof. Does it even matter? Just kind of wondering, working on AFV CLUB Wittmenn special late production command tiger.But will be working on a early command version after this one, of the famous wittmenn photo in the snow with the 88 kill rings. It to is a command tiger, if you look real close at the pics, it has a antenna mounted to the left and the right of the tiger. But nither one of them are the star antenna.It also has no MG34 in the gun mantlet.

Can Anybody shed a little light on this for me? Thanks

I have both of those books. I will have a look at them tommorow.

According to Jentz and Doyle’s D.W. to Tiger I, page 53, the Sternantenne D for the Fu 8 radio is mounted on the right side of the rear deck, the 1.4 meter Stabantenne for the Fu 7 radio is mounted on the left side of the rear deck and the 2 meter Stabantenne for the Fu 5 is mounted on the turret roof. The MG 34 in the mantlet is dropped, the vision slit in the right turret side, the MG opening in the mantlet and (later) the hole in the turret roof for the loader’s periscope are sealed with armor plugs welded in place. 26 rounds of ammo and their racks are removed, as well as numerous other interior fittings.
