Staghound Armored Car Kits, Which is Easiest?

I bought a Bronco kit of this vehicle and frankly the instructions scare the bleep out of me. Does anyone have any experience with the Bronco, Italeri, and Tamiya versions? I know they are the same subject and all three appear highly detailed but I would bet that a least Tamiya’s intructions would be easier to follow. Would appreciate any input.

I know what you mean about the bronco kit. I have all three manufacturers. The Tamyia kit is just the Italeri kit reboxed in a Tamyia box with some figures included. I haven’t tried building anyof them yet but the Italeri kit looks the easiest, the Bronco kit looks like it has the most detail. I think that there was an arcticle comparing the building of the two kits, it might have been in FSM. If I can find the arcticle I’ll let you know which issue it is in.

The Italeri / Tamiya kit (they are the same kit) is the easier to build. The Bronco kit is more accurate and has more defined details. I agree that the Bronco instructions are difficult to follow. Don’t let that scare you off though, as the kit fits together with no problems.

I’ve got the Tamiya boxing of the Italeri kit. It looks very nice, but I have not tried to assemble it.

Only Staghound model I got experience with is the following(currently on the bench):

Italeri 1/35 T17E2 Staghound AA

So far goes together smooth and has a nice PE fret included too. Could be a rebox of the Bronco Kit though.

But there have been kitted a few variants of the Staghound MK I, Mk II, MK III and the AA.

I agree with Bronto. I have a finished Bronco kit and the assembly was quite straight forward although it has a lot of parts. I think it has more details. I have seen the Tamiya (Italeri ) kit and it also looks good. I guess it’s just a matter of preference. But since you have both kits it’s just a mater of deciding which one to build first. With the Bronco I had to be very careful about the alignment of the suspension so that all four wheels touch the ground.

Thanks to all of you for the responses. I’m currently working on a AFV M-10 tank destroyer which is pretty detailed in itself. So I might tackle an easier subject before the Bronco Staghound. I will not let it scare me and will hit it soon.

Here is a link to reviews of the different Staghound kits. It is noted on the Italeri Staghound review that other than the name, the Bronco and Italeri kits have nothing else in common. Both get good reviews so it looks like price and variant might be your only deciding factors.
