Does anyone make a kit of the Beech Staggerwing? I think that’s the correct name. I’d prefer 1/48 or larger as far as scale.
I believe it was AMT who produced a 1:48 Beech Staggerwing. Haven’t seen those for years. You might have to trust your luck to eBay or one of the rare kit vendors. The kit was rather basic but did build up to a nice model. I did one for my dad who is an airlift historian. I did it in this scheme…it was used for Embassy Support.

Wish someone would rerelease it again!
Hi Mason,
ITC made a 1/32 example of the Staggerwing which like the 1/48 boxing, is long out of production, but can be found on ebay… speaking of which, a 1/32 kit:
and a 1/48 kit:
Good luck!

I’ve got one of those ITC Staggerwing kits, and while it’s nice to have a large scale version of that beautiful aircraft, the kit is EXTREMELY simplified. With a great deal of scratchbuilding you could produce a decent model, but be advised that you’ll be looking at quite a labor intensive project…
Roden announced a 1/48 scale Staggerwing at last year’s Nuremberg show. While that kit (and the 1/48 scale Pilatus Porter I want!) hasn’t made it out yet, it’s still on the Web site:

That would be great if it happens, because a UC-43 would be a D-17S and there were far more of those built than there were of the G-17S that can be built from the AMT kit. The AMT kit needs a fair bit of work to get the cowl right, and the fuselage is a bit off in length as well. It does capture the look of the G-17S very well when done, though.
Thought I scored the AMT kit at the local antique mall…it was the right box but inside were piece parts from various models…nothing from the Staggerwing. [:(]
I also got an AMT 1/48th Staggerwing from that auction site and like already said- it’s what you might expect for that vintage yet it does look the part.
Picked mine up while on a “Bush Plane” kick and careful shopping can still get you some decent deals. I collected that, a Norseman, a Beaver and I don’t recall what else and never spent too much on any of em.[;)]
