Spru cutters

Ok her is a really dumb question. What is the average life of a pair of spru cutters before you break down and buy another pair?

Just curious. I just ordered a new one to replace mine of six years. Xuron knows how to make them good I guess.

Much depends on what you cut. If you’re using them to cut wire, especially harden piano wire they won’t last long. Xuron gives most if not all of their products a life time warranty.

I’m still using the same pair of side-cutters I’ve had for about 20 years… Can’t read or remember the brand-name, but I bought 'em at Radio Shack for about 6 bucks…

I use a pair of the least expensive fingernail trimming pliers I got at a local Wal-Mart.

I find the curved blades very helpful in sneaking around a large part molded close to the tree.

Those usually work pretty good, but aren’t so good for getting into tight spots or cutting sprues themselves…

I’d tend to think HvH’s experience should be typical.
