I saw a booth on E-Bay from JC Metal Fabrication. The seller is “jcmetalfab”
Any information on the booth? I searched for him in the member index here and got “0” Anyone know how to get information on JC Metal Fabrication or the the guy? I appreciate it.
I bought one from him, and I’m very satisfied. It came as a kit, assembly took me a few hours. The fan is a dayton shaded pole, and quiet. I’ve got it ducted to the outside of the house, and it’s quieter than a hairdryer.
Edit: I also contacted him about a few questions–the assembly drawing was unclear on a few things. He got right back to me, and gave exactly what I needed. He also publishes his phone number and a few other things on a sticker on the side of the booth.
edit: bah, just noticed the post asking about this… please ignore my post here.
I was just looking at one of their spray booths on e-bay, from JC Metal Fabrication Inc. Model # JC-HSB2518. I’m curious how that may compare to the Pace Peace Keeper spray booth. I’m looking to buy one (or possibly make one, but would prefer to buy it so my time will go towards painting instead of making a booth.) Anyone else ever use one JC Metal’s spray booths?
Mine took less than 4 hours from start to finish to make from pieces I had in the house and it works great. Give it a shot before you blow the bank on one. You can use the money for more kits!!!
Too late lol, I couldn’t stand it anymore and had to get one, so I broke down and just ordered the new Pace Peace Keeper Deluxe. Should be here early next week. I have a ton of projects lined up since it’s been way too cold to spray in the garage. I’ll do a write up after I get it set up and put through it’s paces.
You’re gonna love the Pace Peace Keeper. I bought one about a year ago and it has been my best modeling investment. I vented mine outside my basement window after putting it on a plastic shelving unit. The fan does an excellent job of getting all the fumes out of my workroom and I really like the work table that attaches to the front of the booth. It adds valuable working space. Just remember when doing your duct work, keep the bends and duct length to a minimum as an increase in either will cut down on the efficiency of the fan.
I’m planning on putting it into my den, right in front of the window, so I shouldn’t have any problems with the ducting. I can’t wait to get that puppy set up, I’ve been going nuts not being able to spray much, although when the compulsion takes me over, I’ll spray acrylics in the shower because the cleanup is so easy.
Ya, the acrylics are fine to do in the shower, just spritz on some Windex after you’re done and voila, shower looks non the worse for wear. The first time I airbrushed acrylics in the shower, my wife came home from shopping while I was in the middle of it. The puzzled “What the hell are you doing?” look on her face was priceless! Wish I could have gotten a picture of that! LOL
