Spitfire Finished!!!

The manufacturer is unknown from China. The main material used is cotton, and the embroidery is AM from a generic brand. [;)] I apologize to those of you who don’t know what the heck I’m talking about. (I believe this is one of Tom’s favorites)

In case you’re actually interested in the model, it is 1/72 Tamiya with:
Aires detail set
Eduard PE
Squadron Vacuform canopy
True details resin wheels
Repositioned rudder and tailplanes

The decals are from Eagle Strike, Techmod, Tally Ho and Hasegawa. Other than that it’s straight OOB.

Comments and critiques are welcome, and if you want to tell me about the model that’s cool too. [:D]

Holy Schmokes, Tanky…the detail in that little guy is phenominal. That is absoltely beautiful.

Wow loks amazing man. Just one thing is the engine pointin a little upwords?

It looks excellent. I really like the visible engine. I hope to do the same thing on my next build. Thanks for the instiration!

Joshua

Well Tanky, you’ve outdone yourself this time. However, it’s a little busy for my tastes. Less is more, IMHO. The simpler the better.

Now about that spit. WOW! I’m a 48th guy myself, and I love me some detail work, but JEEZ! You’ve packed so much detail into a tiny kit like that. I am impressed. You did a great job, and the presentation is superb. Where did you find that mirror? Ah great work. Got more comming for the CBI group build??

Ah, Tanky’s tablecloths…I was beginning to miss 'em [:)]

The Spit is quite nice as well.

Looks nice… 'fer little scale… [;)]

Fade to Black…

WOW that’s GREAT!!!

Overwhelming just looking at it.

WELL DONE

Bud

HOLY SUPER DETAILING BATMAN!

Real nice job there Tanky.

Thanks Tanky [;)]

Yes, it is one of my favorites, but I shelved mine to finish working on a Hase Mk Vb in 1/32 scale with American markings.

My only comment is that is if you did not reveal that it is 1/72, I believe that you could have easily stumped us, thinking it to be at least 1/48 scale with the exhaustive detail you did!

Thanks for sharing. [tup]

Tom [C):-)]

thanks to all for the encouragement.

Radmax- nope. My CBI entry will be strictly OOB. The mirror came from michael’s, and the nameplate is from the Eduard zoom set.

actually, most things i do will be strictly OOB after this…

Nice work on the Spitfire. The detailing is superb. The pilot must have really poured on the “G’s” while chasing a 109 and bent the engine mounts upward.

Darwin, O.F. [alien]

thanks darwin.

Wow man! I can’t believe it is 1/72. I mean my 1/32 Hornet doesn’t have that level of details.

Outstanding job.[tup]

Very nice job on an ‘other than that it’s straight OOB’ build!

Mark

I really like the tablecloth Tanky. The model aint too shabby either [:D]. Well done young Jedi !

Regards, Rick

Ok,Ok, now did you HAVE to let us know it was 1/72? Great! As if I didn’t feel inadequate enough. I guess I’ll sulk back to my workbench and try to make something 1/48th kinda, sorta, not really as worthy. Honestly…nice work. Just don’t do a 1/48th SAAB Viggen will ya, let me have my own little victory.[;)]

Very nice work, Tanky. Just outstanding. What makes it even more impressive to me is the scale- that’s some very detailed work. And the sheer amount of it- wow. It looks fantastic.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Tanky, words fail me…

…and that doesn’t happen very often!

A totally amazing build in any scale, let alone one that is near enough invisible to anyone over 30!
