I follow a Facebook page called “PlaneHistoria”. Today they posted a photo of a Spitfire with two kegs of beer under her wings. Thought it might be a fun subject for a model. The post states that Spitfires, P-51s and Typhoons all made such deliveries.
That would be interesting
I have seen a few people who have modeled this in the past.
Good way to keep the beer cold too.
I’ve seen something about this posted somewhere and can’t for the life of me remember exactly where. That would indeed make for a good build as I’m sure it would stoke lots of conversation.
LOVE it!! I may have to pick one of these up. Thank you for sharing that Frank.
Thanks, fotofrank! That’s going on my wish list for sure!
I’ve been wanting to get this kit for a very long time, I just keep putting it off. I’d like to find photos of a Mustang hauling beer.
I was thinking the same. A Mustang beer hauler might be my first go at a little scratch building. I have an unfinished one on my bench right now. This might be the nudge I need to finish it.
Same here. I have several different Mustang kits in my stash so I might try the idea.
Germans couldnt have been to pleased, just like in the movie to be able to use fuel to fly fresh chocolate cake across the Atlantic
Looks like a fun build. Perfect timing with that recent release of that "Greatest Beer Run"movie. Didn’t Italeri make a 1/48 Spitifre kit with these beer barrels too?
