For my 1st post on this friendly forum [A], I’d like to present you the latest on my collection. Sorry no process for now. Only the result ! Some imperfections for now due to lake of precision during the conception. [:#]
I used the spitfire 1/32 from Tamiya. I used Adobe Lightroom to make blueprints of the wings and tail.
Tail was quite hard to make because of its small shapes/ The tail wheel has been extended in order to make the inside mechanism
I added control cables inside the fuselage according to the cutaway I found on the internet
Canon was made using Styrene sheet as well as the complete structure. The main difficulty was the lack of reference building the structure of the wing
Here is the engine…[8-|]
Hope you enjoy guys ! I’m open for every constructive critics !
For the conception, I drawn the shape with the structure, a really detailed drawing with each airfoil profil. I listed things which constituate the wings: machine gun, undercarriage, tanks, radiator, etc… defining their location, and how to make something that will looks realistic.
For the building, this is simply a use a styrene sheet from evergreen, according to the blueprints with some adjustments. I mesured the exact size for wing ribs, longeron. In fact, everything is in the conception. I don’t really know how to be more precise.
I’m on a new project of cutaway. This time, It gonna be a P-61 from Hobby Boss 1/32 again more details. I gonna start the WIP soon. I’ll try to explain a much as possible steps of conception and building.
Nice one! I especially like it being in the colours of the Polish Fighting Team also known as the “Skalski’s Circus” - and it’s the machine of the boss himself. Must have been a lot of plasic cutting, eh? Thanks for sharing and have a nice day
Cut aways that get the guts scratched built are the hardest ones to work on. That is quite a super detailed build that simply looks amazinng. You are one gifted modeler. [B]
You have the mother of all Spitfires. The late Dan Jane cut-away modeler would have been amaze to see this one.I myself am trying a 1/24 scale cutaway of a P-47D.It will look spectacular in a couple of years from now.THANKS FOR THE IDEA.Contour gage will help me great.
We can learn a lot from your builds. Keep the photos coming.
Just one small hint. I think just a little more light on the subject might take away the shadows and make for a better look at the fantastic work you did.
