Special Hobby kit quality?

Hi gang,

I’m really thinking of ordering the Special Hobby F2G Super Corsair. I’ve got my second child due in May and my wife will be quitting her job after that. Basically what I’m trying to get at is that it might be one of the last models I’ll purchase in a very, very long time. I’m curious about the general overall quality of Special Hobby kits. I’ve never purchase/built one of them.

Thanks for the info,

Eric

Congratulations.

I have heard some bad things about the WW1 aircraft from my local IPMS chapter.

But you know IPMS, they can be a little narrow minded about some things.

I asked about the SH 350th Bismarck and got a pretty good response about it.

Thats all I can tell you.

Good luck

Mike

I’ve built a couple of Special Hobby kits they are limmited run kits with resin detail parts and vacuform canopies similar to classic airframes kits. They require more work sanding and fitting parts than say a Hasegawa or Tamiya kit. Here’s a preview from over on modelling madness.

As Mark noted, they are limited run kits & intended for the more experienced modeler. They can be built into very nice models, but will require more care & effort than the typical main stream kit.
