Special Hobby 1/72 Hawker Tempest MK.II. Any good?

I’ve been thinking about picking this kit up from my LHS. It looks alright in the box, but I’m guessing is one of their earlier releases as it contains vac formed canopies and I know they’ve been doing injected ones for the past few years.

I can’t find any reviews about it on the net, so I was wondering if anyone here has some insights into the kit that they can share.

I haven’t built it, but it’s a recent release with lots of resin detail. You can’t tell the age of a SH kit by the presence of Vac canopies, as they use them in a lot of their kits. My guess is it will be a harder than average build, but can result in a great model. Whether it’s worth the extra effort than say the 1/72 Academy kit, is your choice.

Do you know if the Academy Tempest Comes with an option for the MK.II? It was that option that caught my attention on the SH kit. The only other 1/72 MK.II Tempest I know of is the old Matchbox kit.
