I bet many of you had either forgotten or thought I had? Well wonder no more lol, here’s my finished Mirage 2000BG Hellenic AF. All comments are welcome, I hope you enjoy the photos and I will be starting a new build probably in a few months, the last couple have been hectic for me, plus I’m moving house again so I don’t wanna start a new build until after the move. Enjoy
Masking tape belts, I used no aftermarket, looked at the other 2000 I have and copied the photoetch belts.
This one is better shows the mesh dashboard well, and not shaky like the other photos!
I used the open nozzle for this kit, I think this shows the best image as I used Alclad 2 Aluminium I think.
You can’t see much but the cockpit took up much of the project.
Again mesh wire in the cockpit, look at photos of the mirage and you’ll see how obvious it is, no attempt was made in the manufacture of this kit to simulate this, but I guess that’s what building models is all about!
This shows all of the work the best, it’s all metal mesh and because of how shiny the clear parts are you can’t really see them!
Thanks Dre, honestly I have not thought about it, I have quite a few kits, so after the move I’ll have a look, I have a lot I have wanted to build for some time, just deciding which one is the issue, possibly su-27 or maybe HE-111. Not sure. got quite a few. What about you, what ever became of the F-14?
There is one PE part Nathan, the sides of the HUD, it was from a J-10 Vigorous Dragon I never finished. other than that the HUD was the side of a tomato packet, the mesh was from a craft shop, the seatbelts were tape and the wiring inside and handle in the rear seat above the displays were stretched sprue. I’m not happy with the way the photos turned out but will try to get better ones up at some point, also I never bothered adding lines to the rear landing gear, I know it’s lazy but I knew it would be impossible to see, not that that is something I would usually do, just the whole project was starting to drag on and I wanted to finish.
Also Dre it’s the 1/32nd scale HE 111. Will see what can be done regards super detailing, possibly may make something smaller before lol, the SU-27 is a likely candidate, I need the new nose and will get a new seat but wont bother with the cockpit as I think the SU-27 looks best with the canopy closed. Possibly Kazakhstan I’m thinking for the Desert scheme.
Really? That’s a kit I had wanted to get my hands on, how is it as far as kits go? Also yes quite far from WW2 lol. I have a 1/48 BF-110G so I may be going back to WW2 for a while lol.
Very nice kit. Excellent fit all around. The Brassin pit fits real nice into the plastic. Surface detail is superior to anything Trumpeter or Hobbyboss offers.
