Space Shuttle Endeavor Flyover Today

Exciting day to be on my roof top today…

didn’t think I was going to be able to see it (from maps of the flight path the media was showing), but the pilot made 180 over old MCAS El Toro area and wound up over my house.

That would have been cool to see. Still hoping to do New York next year and see the Enterprise at the USS Intrepid

I’ve never been there but have see it on the news. Intrepid would be a must if going to NY.

Wonderful shots! All we get to see here in Colorada are hot air balloons and sky divers…

Live in Houston and got to see it circling Ellington as it stopped of here. They were letting people on the grounds to see it, but my wife got stuck in the traffic from the interstate trying to get in. We wanted to go, but with two little ones it just didn’t happen. A friend of mine walked 2 miles and waited 3 hours to do the within 100 feet thing.

Going to refrain from commenting about how stupid it is Houston doesn’t get to keep one.

Sorry. Didn’t realize I had double posted.

Houston doesn’t get 1, that’s odd. Not sure how it will be displayed in LA, curious if they will let people walk up and touch it… those delicate tiles and all. In about 2 weeks it will make a 2day trek from LAX to museum @ 2mph. I guess that’s pretty fast considering a couple of months ago they moved a big rock to a museum in 2 weeks XDD

Long time ago (in the 70s) they flew Enterprise around before placing it in museum. I took pics on slide film of its visit to St. Louis. Recently discovered the box of those slides. Most had faded a lot, but with modern photo processing software I was able to restore them. Excitement of finding them caused me to buy that kit of shuttle on carrier aircraft, add it to my stash.

It is exciting to see it. You must have some great shots. I really want to add a telephoto lens to my DSLR arsenal. [:D]
