Space Cruiser Yamato

Well thanks to Chris I pulled out an old kit I had in my stash for I guess over 7 years, of the Space Cruiser Yamato from the old TV show Starblazers. This kit is a 1/1000. I would have to say it’s about 11" long.

I will post more pics as I build

Thanks for looking all

Have a GREAT day

Bud

That’s an original one Dubau! It looks like a quick and easy build. Can’t wait to see the final result. Whish brand is this?

It might me the orginal, I don’t know. Can’t find a date, everything is in Japanese and I can’t read it [:P]

It’s a BAN DAI

Anyone know of how I could find out how old this is ?

Thanks

Bud

I think it has been released in the 32nd century!!![:D]

Geee and I thought it was the 47 LOL [:P]

Bud

Post plenty of pics as you go Bud!..

Chris

indeed, please do! i really loved the progress pics from chris when build his. can’t wait to see yours!

looks like one of old Bandai release given the box art

Have not done to much to this, been out. But here are some more pics from what I did so for.

This kit has bad fit problems all over. so you might see a lot of putty, [:P]

Have a GREAT day all

Bud

Here is one more pics I just took. You can see how small this is.

Bud

Comming along nicely Bud…

And yes, if you want the shaded look, then spray it black and then the grey over the top lightly… I few times until you feel happy with it…

Same with the red… You will work it out I am sure![:D]

But spray the top coat over the black from a distance… Not right up close… You will know what I mean once you try it!

Chris

Well here is an update on the Argo. So for so good. I am still puttying and sanding so this is not the black base coat. Seems like Flat Black bring out the defects more.

I don’t know how you guys do these so fast. I putty and sand and putty and sand and paint wait 24 hrs putty and sand paint and another 24 hrs and so on. What am I doing worng ? LOL [:P] [:P] [:P]

Have a GREAT day all

Bud

In all honesty… Its how you hold your tongue!

Chris

[(-D]

Well some more paint. I used Model Master “wood” for the deck and I will mask it off and repaint it black. I still have some seems to fix, but it’s coming along.

Have a GREAT day all

Bud

Oh good boy… You are doing the deck “tan” too… I think I have started a trend… We are lucky that we dont have Star Blazer purits that nit pick about every detail, like we do in the Star Trek modeling world!.. Keep up the great work mate!

Chris

It’s all you Chris. All I remember about the Argo is that it was Red on the Bottom and a Blue/Grey on top. I like what you did with the wood look "Tan ". It might look like and is LOL that I am just about copying you Chris. What can I say. I like your work.

Thanks all

Bud

No, no, I dont mind you copying… In all honesty, I just prefer it with a tan deck… I understand that it isnt supposed to be, but I kinda wanted mine to stand out from the rest, and felt that it would give it a more real ship feel…

Post more pics, I am enjoying it!..

ps… why do you call it the Argo?.. Is that what its called in the english version?.. The red Japanese on the box says Yamato…

Chris

Yea it was, here take a look at these links.
