I’ve just bee,n to the LHS for some brushes and Tamiya paints and I couldn’t help but ask for the Dragon Catalogue. I ordered the Russian SU-85 Tank Destroyer (Dragon Premium Edition-looks GREAT)!
I can’t say I have. My stash is totally devoid of an Russian subjects. Been waiting for a 1943 T-34, but can’t make my mind up if I want the T-34/85 instead. I’m watching the premium version of the T-34/85.
It looks like a good kit, with the magic tracks and barrel. I’m not a huge PE fan, but they have some nice upgrades. Not sure if the engine screen is iffy work or not, read some mixed reviews on the T-34 kits.
Like I’ve been saying I spent all of last year building German armour (which, of course, is my favourite subject) but I do feel my cabinet needs some Allied stuff in there so when this big Tiger I is complete my stash will comprise of these:
Dragon SU-85M
Bronco Comet
Tamiya Jeep
Dragon Sherman IC Hybrid Firefly
I like to keep a small stash of my favourite kits and top us as required - I just don’t have the room whilst I’m living with the parents!
These four kits should easily take up the rest of 2012 - The Tiger is still far from complete too!
The reviews look good and the PE seems to look workable (I hate the stuff). The big kit is that Firefly - massive part count and some heavily detailed instructions. The Jeep is just a bit of fun really.
I’m looking forward to starting this one - the only other Russian build I have is that big old Tamiya JSU-152 I built last year (great kit btw).
I have the SU-100 which I believe is the exact same kit with extra parts tossed in for the larger gun and other modifications. Very nice kit. Everything fit well and all the PE I’ll ever use. My version came with a turned metal gun barrel not sure if this one does or not.
